I was cleaning up some of my old stuff and junk
because, honestly, I don't have anything else better to do. Boy, you'd be surprised if you know what I'm still keeping. I found my old Standard 5 and UPSR test papers stashed in an old file I had never bothered to look into. Nostalgic. How I really miss those days.
For those who might not know, orientation and registration for Local Public Universities started last Saturday. For me to be able to type this entry here now, can only mean one thing..
Yep. That's right. I have made my choice and I'm going to NUS
and I'll graduate with a bloody huge debt.
I will be leaving on the
16th of July (although term only officially starts on the
4th of August), if all goes well. My early departure is due to the Qualifying English Test, which is mandatory for all those who only took MUET. =( Jason emailed them and tried to get an exemption but they were still adamant about it.
Official registration for the course as well as registration for the hostel are on the 25th of July and 30th of July, respectively. Most would have just check into their halls or residence on 15/16th of July itself to avoid the hassle of going back to and fro. I'm still giving this some consideration because:-
- I have not gotten my hall package (email containing important information pertaining our on-campus accommodation)
- It would cost me extra $$$ to stay there two weeks earlier (because term stay doesn't officially begin until 4th of August)
- I will end up spending more $$$ there for food compared to Malaysia. =S
It's always about the money. =P
Most of my F6 friends who were offered a place in Local U has accepted their offer and everyone's off to different directions already. It's like history repeating itself all over again when SPM was over. =(
I used to be quite envious of some of my friends who could afford (or who received scholarships) to study overseas. It just never occurred to me that, 2 1/2 years later, I'll be leaving this country too.
Although Singapore isn't really that far. Hehe. Everything feels so surreal.
Pei Yi and Yng Jye are off to USM. Yu Deng, Kha Mun, You Min, Ke Sin, Huey Lin and Ivan Loh have gone to UM. Cong and Yan Eng, UKM. Kar Hoe, UTeM. Nicholas, Niklause, Ee En, Ling Fern, Ivan Oon and Yvonne headed to UMS whilst Huey Chyi went to UniMAS.
Funny how we're scattered all over the country, huh?
(Do lemme know if I missed out anyone. =P)
Feeling anxious about finally going to NUS. I keep thinking and wondering if this is the right choice. Am still hoping that my appeal for Science/Applied Chemistry is successful, otherwise, I would have to spend 4 years studying Computer Science. I
am quite afraid to lose out to those who took Computing/IT during their high school years as I have completely zero knowledge on Programming. Damn
kiasu-ness setting in already. >_< 'Sides, I feel I have more of an advantage in Science because I've been taking it since Form 4. ='( And I do have to worry about my job prospects because there is this freaky loan I will have to bear by the end of my studies. *gulps*
I will really really miss all of you. ='(
