Brrr...

Operation theaters are so darn cold.. Brrr.. Had my first minor operation on 10th of July, which was also my father's birthday. Hehe. A birthday to remember.

Finally received letters on my financial aid application for AY08/09. Feeling pretty lucky to have gotten almost all the loans and bursary available (except for the Cash Assist Loan).

I have also received my letters regarding my on-campus accommodation. I've got a double-occupency room, which is good news to me, because it's the cheapest. =X Will be sharing zeh room with a roomie from Bukit Mertajam. =)

Most disappointing of all, my appeal for Applied Science has been rejected. I guess I will be stuck with Computer Science for now. ='(

S.Amanian dearies, I'm so sorry the Saturday outing had to be cancelled.  Didn't know most of you are having your exams. ='( I will make it up to you girls again when I return in December. =(

I will be going to Mid-Valley/The Gardens with Callie and Kar Mun tomorrow, so if you happened to be around the area with boyfriends or friends or families, do drop by to give me a farewell hug. =PP

P/S: Regretted I couldn't join Dea, Dv, Fie and Ce during the Hari-Koperasi-cum-KLCC trip. ='(

In The Middle of Packing

I bought my luggage trunk yesterday at Ikano. It's a 24" one that cost me a whopping RM 264 after discount. >_< Had wanted to get the 28" one which was RM 299, but my parents think it's wiser to get the middle-sized one.

And I still think it's not enough to fit all my things. T__T

Then, I also bought 2 OEM webcams which cost me RM 26 each. They aren't working very well though. One has more noise than the other, while the other's too blur. Tested them on Skype and discovered my dad's laptop actually has microphone built-in! Haha. It was never stated that it had a mic built in, hence my surprise. =P

I wonder if I'll get better webcams in Singapore later. Will need a headset and mic. =\

P/S: I have also changed my layout. Tee-hee. It's better for the eyes now. =P Updated the links under "Reads". What I really hate about the layout is, there's a limit of 30 links I can add to the sidebar, so I was forced to improvise a little bit. 9 more space left. :D

I have also received my freshmen-hall package and it said I have to check into my room by the 18th of July or my room would be given to someone else. Bleh. And I thought I could save a bit on that. ='(

Diverging Paths

I was cleaning up some of my old stuff and junk because, honestly, I don't have anything else better to do. Boy, you'd be surprised if you know what I'm still keeping. I found my old Standard 5 and UPSR test papers stashed in an old file I had never bothered to look into. Nostalgic. How I really miss those days.

For those who might not know, orientation and registration for Local Public Universities started last Saturday. For me to be able to type this entry here now, can only mean one thing..

Yep. That's right. I have made my choice and I'm going to NUS and I'll graduate with a bloody huge debt.

I will be leaving on the 16th of July (although term only officially starts on the 4th of August), if all goes well. My early departure is due to the Qualifying English Test, which is mandatory for all those who only took MUET. =( Jason emailed them and tried to get an exemption but they were still adamant about it.

Official registration for the course as well as registration for the hostel are on the 25th of July and 30th of July, respectively. Most would have just check into their halls or residence on 15/16th of July itself to avoid the hassle of going back to and fro. I'm still giving this some consideration because:-

  1. I have not gotten my hall package (email containing important information pertaining our on-campus accommodation)

  2. It would cost me extra $$$ to stay there two weeks earlier (because term stay doesn't officially begin until 4th of August)

  3. I will end up spending more $$$ there for food compared to Malaysia. =S

It's always about the money. =P

Most of my F6 friends who were offered a place in Local U has accepted their offer and everyone's off to different directions already. It's like history repeating itself all over again when SPM was over. =(

I used to be quite envious of some of my friends who could afford (or who received scholarships) to study overseas. It just never occurred to me that, 2 1/2 years later, I'll be leaving this country too. Although Singapore isn't really that far. Hehe. Everything feels so surreal.

Pei Yi and Yng Jye are off to USM. Yu Deng, Kha Mun, You Min, Ke Sin, Huey Lin and Ivan Loh have gone to UM. Cong and Yan Eng, UKM. Kar Hoe, UTeM. Nicholas, Niklause, Ee En, Ling Fern, Ivan Oon and Yvonne headed to UMS whilst Huey Chyi went to UniMAS.

Funny how we're scattered all over the country, huh?

(Do lemme know if I missed out anyone. =P)

Feeling anxious about finally going to NUS. I keep thinking and wondering if this is the right choice. Am still hoping that my appeal for Science/Applied Chemistry is successful, otherwise, I would have to spend 4 years studying Computer Science. I am quite afraid to lose out to those who took Computing/IT during their high school years as I have completely zero knowledge on Programming. Damn kiasu-ness setting in already. >_< 'Sides, I feel I have more of an advantage in Science because I've been taking it since Form 4. ='( And I do have to worry about my job prospects because there is this freaky loan I will have to bear by the end of my studies. *gulps*

I will really really miss all of you. ='(

NUS Welcome Tea

Attended the NUS Welcome Tea yesterday with my dad and Chai Ping. It was held at Melia Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Boy, was I fascinated with the place! The marble floors.. The sparkling toilet.. The parking ticket was darn expensive though. RM15 for just 3 hours!

So, anyway, it was a briefing by the officers from the OAM. Got quite a few of our queries answered. There were also a number of seniors there to answer our incessant questions. I was so busy listening to them that the food was gone by the time I was done. ;_;

On an unrelated note, I ish dreading going to work tomorrow. *starts foaming in the mouth*

Claire - Wtf

Office Politics

When I first got in, I could never really fathom why my colleagues loathed her. In fact, they hated her to such an extent that they wished  her plane would crash into the middle of nowhere.

"She has the ability to make anyone here cry! You've never seen how temperamental she can get.."

Earlier on, she screamed over the phone at another co-worker who's based outstation over something I couldn't recall and made that other lady cried too.

Allow me to remind you that, we're humans and humans don't have superpowers.

(Repeat *, **, **)

One Down

So 3.4 ain't good enough huh?

-------------------------------------------------------

I went back to Padini to collect my payslip yesterday but Becky couldn't give me my cheque because they misspelt my name. =_=; But that also means I gotta go there again to retrieve it. (YESH! A good excuse to go out again. Muahaha!)

Met up with Dawn and she took me to Marche (her cousin calls it the Cow Restaurant LOL) and the mushroom soup was absolutely delicious!! It has this new marketplace-cum-restaurant concept. Really amazing!  (Excuse my jakun-ness, it's my first time there after all. xD)

We then head over to Paddington House of Pancakes (Also my first time there. XD) for dessert but unfortunately i forgot to take any pictures of it. =S

I shall now let the pictures do the talking. Been ages since I last posted a picture, eh? =X
I really hate how 6 out of 10 of my pictures turn out blurry. >_>;

The creamy and thick mushroom soup. Mmm~ One of the best ones I've tried! (Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who's only tried Pizza Hut's mushroom soup. =P)

Top left: Rösti (A delectable potato dish but it was especially yummy because the potatoes were peeled on the spot.)
Right: The cream topping + chicken breast pasta. Tasted even better with more cheese! <3

The marketplace-like restaurant. :3 Sorry the picture turned out blurry.

It was quite a filling lunch, considering I went in without breakfast in the morning =X

Thank you so much for treating me, Dawn! *sniffs and huggles* And the lovely 'palm oil' ring! *sniffs*

O'Brien was making the tallest sandwich in the world. :O

We were guessing it's about xx feet tall.
